A Solution to the Company History Question

If you have a patron that comes in and wants to know a history of a company, you can go to the Business and Company Resource Center to find that information. Sometimes patrons need to know a company history because the name of the company has changed and they need to know what the stock was worth for tax purposes.

To find out this information, you can go to the Company research center. This is how.

Go to our library home page (www.yourlibrary.us).

Click on Research on the left.

Click on Magazine and Reference Databases

Click on InfoTrac.

Click on Business and Company Resource Center.

Enter in the name of the company in the white square at the top. You could do General Electric as an example.

Click on the Search button.

You will be given a list of companies with similar names.

Click on General Electric Co. (GE) in the list.

You will see tabs at the top of the page. Click on the Histories tab.
