This is an excellent site for finding reviews of a variety of projects. If something isn't in Consumer Reports, I check this site.

I have found some information that gives the site some credibility. Consumersearch is actually owned by the New York times (Direct (Online Exclusive) (May 9, 2007 accessed through Infotrac). That should lend it some respectability.

PC World recommended Consumersearch in 2001
(PC World 19.8 (August 2001): p.96 accessed through Infotrac).

Computer Shopper magazine named it the site of the month in 2003 (Computer Shopper 23.4 (April 2003): p.149(1) accessed through Infotrac).

A librarian said it was worth a click (Information Outlook 9.2 (Feb 2005): p.6(2) accessed through Infotrac). Give it a try.
